Role Description
Effectively plan and drive the delivery of complex and/or large ICT projects/programs that support Australian Parliament House (APH) and its occupants.
Effectively manage competing priorities to ensure project outcomes are aligned to the Australian Parliament Digital Strategy.
Develop and maintain quality project management artefacts in adherence to the endorsed project management framework and departmental standards.
Actively monitor, track, and control outputs to resolve issues, conflicts, dependencies, and critical path deliverables.
Procure and actively manage resources to achieve project/program objectives in accordance with Commonwealth Procurement Rules.
Provide on-site leadership for project/program teams by building and motivating team members to meet project/program goals, while adhering to their responsibilities and project milestones.
Accurately report on project/program progress including prompt identification and escalation of risks and issues with recommended mitigation/treatment strategies.
Effectively and proactively liaise, communicate, and negotiate with other areas of DPS, other parliamentary departments and APS agencies as required.
Criteria
Each candidate must provide a one page pitch to address all criteria specified. This is equal to 5000 characters.
1. 7+ years of project management experience, including tracking and planning complex projects and/or programs.
2. Experience and/or certifications in project/program management methodologies i.e. PRINCE2, Agile or equivalent.
3. Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the practical application of the Commonwealth Procurement Rules and contract management.
4. Experience drafting and submitting budget proposals and recommending subsequent budget changes where necessary.
5. Strong experience presenting to executive sponsors and demonstrated communication skills, both written and oral with technical and non-technical staff, all levels of management.
6. Technically competent with various software programs, including but not limited to, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio), Microsoft Project, SharePoint online etc.
